Get your scuba diving certification with the PADI® Open Water Diver Course – the world’s most popular and widely recognized scuba course. Millions of people have learned to scuba dive and gone on to discover the wonders of the aquatic world through this course.
PADI Open Water Scuba Certification class consists of 3 sequential sections:
3 three-hour classroom sessions, once a week. Students will learn all about safe Scuba practices, gas laws, dive planning, the equipment they will use and what to expect when they start their pool training and ocean dives.
3 three-hour pool sessions, once a week. Students will start in the shallow end of the pool, learning how to breath underwater and other simple skills. Students will graduate to the deep end when they are comfortable breathing under water and learn how to equalize their ears. The students will master more than 20 skills as they have fun building confidence and understanding what it is like to be a Scuba Diver. Only when both the student and the instructor believes the student is ready, the student will move on to actual open water dives
2 days of two-tank Scuba beach dives (boat dives extra). We will head to the beach where the students will use the skills they learned in the pool to do four dives. Starting shallow in 20 – 30 feet of water and showing their mastery of the skills , the students build confidence. Eventually they reach the certification depth of 60 feet. Along the way the students will experience the wonders of another world. A world that replaces cell phones and video games with majestic kelp forests and beautiful marine wildlife. The students will never look at the ocean the same way and their lives will be forever changed.
At the successful conclusion of the course, the students will receive a PADI certification card that shows they are certified as Open Water Dives that can, with a buddy, go diving up to a depth of 60 feet, whenever they like, wherever they like, conditions permitting. This certification never expires but refresher courses are encouraged after periods of lengthy inactivity.
